Madigan Annex

Madigan Annex

Madigan Annex is divided into numbered corridors or ramps used from the original hospital. Only Ramps 1 – 3 remain today. The building numbers begin with Building 9900 for Dental Command and Troop Battalion and continue through Building 9933 where Telehealth and Technology (T2) is located.

From Madigan Army Medical Center, turn off of or cross Jackson Avenue onto Madigan Avenue. Continue straight until Madigan Avenue becomes Wilson Avenue, turning left onto Lincoln Street. Turn left onto McKinley Avenue and then turn left onto Johnson Street. Parking is on the right or a little further down Johnson Street on your left.

Current day Madigan Annex is the remaining sections of the original hospital built in 1943 and opened in 1944 as a semi-permanent emergency hospital plan type, Mobilization General Hospital Type A, developed by the War Department and constructed for emergency purposes during the later part of World War II. The layout of the hospital was long and large because of fear of an air attack and the construction was simple and quick to complete for the less than skilled labor available on the home front.

Though never intended to become a permanent facility, over the years, the all-brick, 1.5 mile long, multi-corridored hospital was upgraded and remodeled to meet the health care needs of Madigan’s patients.

Today, Madigan Annex is just a sliver of the general hospital facility and has gone through an extensive make over to better serve Madigan patients. Clinics and Services found at Madigan Annex include:
